They nativists treated the European immigrants with hospitality in the 1800s and early 1900s. Though at some point, the nativists thought that the European immigrants were a threat to their land. The Germans, Italians and Irish immigrants were judged and not trusted. They also had a hard time with dealing with the language barriers.
