A veterinary office is treating dogs and cats. There are 15 more cats than dogs. Altogether, there are 45 animals.

Let c represent the number of cats and d represent the number of dogs. The following system of equations represents the situation:

d+c=45

c=d+15

How many cats and dogs are in the clinic?
