Well solutions and compounds both contain two or more elements.
However solutions are created by physically mixing materials together, and easily seperable.
Compounds are created chemically and therefore are harder to separate.

Solutions and compounds are similar in that they are mixtures of elements. They are different in that solutions are made through physical means of mixing materials and can subsequently be separated through physical means such as boiling or filtering. Whereas compounds are created through a chemical process and can only be separated through a chemical process like combustion or electrolysis and once separated are only able to be recombined through a chemical process.
