Which linear function represents the line given by the point-slope equation y + 7 = –(x + 6)?

f(x) = –x – 1
f(x) = –x + 3
f(x) = –x + 13

Answer:

It should be A since the problem has a -2/3 in the equation so that makes it y+7=-2/3(x+6) and the answer should be f(x)=-2/3x-11.

none of these answers would be correct
subtract 7 from both sides and it becomes -7
y=-(x+6)-7
simplify by y=-x-6-7
y = -x-13
the f(x)=-x+13 could be correct if it was written as f(x) = -(x+13)
