If you divide 20 by 40% (20/.4) you get 50. The original price was $50 :)

Let's solve for the original price of the sweater then,
=> 20 dollars = 40%.
Let's look for the 60%.
=> 20 / 4 = 5 dollars is the 10% of the sweater's original price.
=> 5 dollars * 10 = 50 dollars
=> Thus the original price of the sweater is 50 dollars.
