12A. To find the unit rate, you divide the numbers.

30÷6=5 ║ 15÷2=7.5

Terrance trains at 5 miles a minute and Jesse trains at 7.5 miles a minute.

12B. You divide 50 by the unit rates.

50÷5=10 ║ 50÷7.5= 6.66666... or 7

Terrance will take 10 minutes to go 50 miles and Jesse will take about 7 minutes to go 50 miles.

12C. Find Sandra's unit rate.

45÷8=5

Compare

Terrance and Sandra both go at the same pace of 5 miles. Jesse is faster than both Terrance and Sandra.
