How do stars generate energy?

Nuclear fusion reactions combine hydrogen into helium.
Incredible pressure deep within the core splits carbon atoms.
Convection currents carry heat from space deep into the star's core.
Stars do not create their own energy. Their light is reflected light from the sun.
