Using the equation of slope

\text{slope =}(y_2-y_1)/(x_2-x_1)

From the question,

slope =2/3

x₁ =3 y₁=-3 x₂= k y₂=5

substitute the values into the formula

(2)/(3)=(5+3)/(k-3)

cross-multiply

2(k-3) = 3(5+3)

2k - 6 = 3(8)

2k - 6 = 24

Add 6 to both-side of the equation

2k = 24 + 6

2k = 30

Divide both-side of the equation by 2

k = 15

The answer is 15
