Which ordered pair is a solution of the equation y = 4x + 3

B) 3,15

I would advise using organic calculator, but I’ll go with the algebraic way!

First we need to substitute each number into the equation. So let’s go with A:

5 is x and 8 is y, therefore:
8=4(5)+3
8=20+3
8=23 => THIS IS INCORRECT!! So we move on to the B!

3 is x and 15 is y
15=4(3)+3
15=12+3
15=15! => THIS IS CORRECT ANSWER!
