Dilatations conserved parallelism

=> slope of X'Y'=m= slope of XY

Dilatations multiply length by the scale factor

==> |X'Y'|=1.3*|XY-=1.3*L

  • Dilation is a transformation that forms similar shape, but with a different size such that the corresponding sides of image and original shape are parallel to each other.

As the slope of parallel line are equal .

⇒ The slope of XY and X'Y' are equal.

Hence, the slope of X'Y' is m.
