We can calculate the percentage of females dividing the number of females by the total participants (females and males), and then multiply by 100%.

$f=(121)/(99+121)=(121)/(220)\cdot100\text{ \%}=0.55\cdot100\text{ \%}=55\text{ \%}$

The percentage eof females is 55%.
