I am a member of the clergy.

Clergy- a group ordained to perform pastoral or sacerdotal functions in a Christian church

. Sacrament-an important Christian ceremony

She stood in link to recieve the Sacrament.

Cannon Law- the laws of religion

The marriage is valid under Catholic Cannon Law.

Holy Roman Empire-an empire consisting primarily of a loose confederation of German and Italian territories under the suzerainty of an emperor and existing from the 9th or 10th century to 1806

Lay-investiture- the appointment of religious officials

To the reformers in the Church lay investiture appeared intolerable.
