subtrace x from y means y-x so
subtract 3x^2-7x+4 from 5x^2-3x+8 means
5x^2-3x+8-(3x^2-7x+4)=
5x^2-3x+8-1(3x^2-7x+4)
5x^2-3x+8-3x^2+7x-4=
5x^2-3x^2-3x+7x+8-4=
2x^2+4x+4
