The economic authorities conduct expansionary fiscal policy to foster economic growth by boosting aggregate demand levels. The GDP increase also causes the rise of employment levels. Such policy consists on increasing public spending which, due to the action of the multiplier effect, will generate an increae in total output whose size is larger than the size of the spending increase.
