4y^2+8=268
remember you can do anything to an equaiotn as long as you do it to both sides
isolate variable
4y^2+8=264
minus 8 both sides
4y^2+8-8=264-8
4y^2+0=256
4y^2=256
divide both sides by 4
y^2=64
sqar both sides
y=+/-8
8 goes in blank
