Combine like terms first.
7p+8p=15p
15p-12=59
Now add 12 from both sides.
15p=71
Now divide both sides by 15.
p=4.7333333333

Hope this helps!

Hello, lets solve this!

\sf 7p+8p-12=59\\\\\sf Add~like~terms}\\\\15p - 12=59\\\\Add~12~on~both~sides\\\\15p -12 + 12 = 59 + 12\\\\15p = 71\\\\Divide~15~on~both~sides\\\\\boxed{\bf{p = (71)/(15) = 4.73333333}}

Hope I helped! If you have any other qestions or would like further explantion just let me know!! :)
