Gabriel can't decide whether to get a 16 oz can of Creamy Corn that sells for $1.09, or the 32 oz that's on sale for $1.89. Which is a better buy, 16 oz or 32 oz? Calculator allowed, show work!

Answer:

The 32 oz can is the better buy.

Explanation:

32 is twice as much as 16.

Multiply $1.09 x 2

You will get $2.18, which is a higher price than the other 32 oz option; which is $1.89.

Answer:

I would say the 32 oz of corn, because even though they are the same unit price, you get more in the 32 oz of corn.

Explanation:

Well, you can set up this equation to find out the unit price for the 16 oz of corn:

$1.09 divided by 16 = $0.06

Same with the 32 oz of corn:

$1.89 divided by 32 = $0.06
