Viruses have genetic material and a protein capsid but lack the mechanism needed to replicate: they don't have ribosomes, don't have the means to produce ATP, and don't have enough biomolecules by themselves.

This means D is not a reason why they parasite cells, because they DO have DNA or RNA.
