In a sentence, nouns can function as the subject or the C. object. Nouns can either be subjects or objects in a sentence, for example: Maria likes books. In this sentence, the noun Maria is the subject, and the noun books is the object. Verbs only can function as predicates in a sentence, and predicates can be active, or passive, depending on the message you want to convey through them.
