Explanation:

Tan(F) = opposite Side / Adjacent side. The hypotenuse is not involved.

The opposite side is the side that you hit when drawing a line inside F to DE

The Adjacent side is one of the lines forming angle F.

Opposite side = x

Adjacent side = y

Tan(F) = x/y
