Which Function does NOT have an x-intercept?

A.y=1/2x-7 B.y=-x^2+2x+5 C.y=-1/3x-5 D.y=x^2-2x+5

x intercept is when the line crosses the x axis aka when y=0

see if you can solve for x if you set y=0
if you get a false statement, then there is no yint
we can see that A and C have xints
test B and D

B.
0=-x^2+2x+5
if we put into quadratiic formula we get an x value


D. 0=x^2-2x+5
if we put into quadratic formula, there is not x intercept

D is answer
