think of it this way
7/10= ?/2.5
the easiest way to do this is to cross multiply and divide
2.5*7/10
=17.5/10
=1.75 m
But we are looking for cm and 1 m is the same as 100 cm do we just multiply
1.75 x 100
=175 cm
