remember, you can do anything to an equaiton as long as you do it to both sides

try to get the unknown by itself

distributive property
a(b-c)=ab+ac

distribute first
1/3(9x-6)=9/3x-6/3=3x-2

now we have

3x-2=2x+3
minus 2x boh sies
3x-2x-2=2x-2x+3
1x-2=0+3
add 2 both sides
x+2-2=3+3
x+0=5
x=5
