Ok first we would find what it would be like if it were 1:7

so 460/3 153.3e so 153.0

153*7=1071

so 1071 Ssleeves were sold

Answer: 30

Explanation:

Given : In August, Emily's Clothing Store sold 460 shirts with the ratio of short sleeve to long sleeve being 3:7 .

Let the number of short sleeve shirts be 3x and the number of long sleeve shirts be 7x.

Then , according to the question, we have

3x+7x=460\\\\\Rightarrow\ 10x=460\\\\\Rightarrow\ x=(460)/(10)=46

Now, the number of short sleeve shirts sold =
3(10)=30

Hence, 30 short sleeve shirts were sold.
