The choices were: -1 , -7, 4, 0

m < 8

The numbers that satisfies the inequality but makes no sense in this situation are -1, -7, and 0.

Eric has already reported that Joan won her first match, so -1, -7, and 0 can't be used as the value of m.

m can be 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, or 7. all less than 8.
