Given:

The building is 50 feet wide

The length is 80 feet

Find-:

The lateral area of the roof

Explanation-:

The lateral area, use the formula

=2\pi rh

Where,

\begin{gathered} r\text{ = Radius} \\ \\ H=\text{ Height} \end{gathered}

So lateral area is:

\begin{gathered} =2\pi rh \\ \\ =2\pi((50)/(2))(80) \\ \\ =2\pi(25)(80) \end{gathered}

Use the π = 3.14

So, the lateral area is:

\begin{gathered} =2\pi(25)(80) \\ \\ =2(3.14)(25)(80) \\ \\ =6.28*2000 \\ \\ =12560 \end{gathered}

So, the lateral area is 12560 ft²
