What is one significant way transportation changed in the United States in the first half of the nineteenth century?

Well in the 19th century they also build the first production line! This line allowed them to create automobiles as a faster rate. So this helped out everyone a lot. Could you imagine walking 100s of miles back in the day to get somewhere? (Of course, some persons had the option of using horses.)
