We will need to use synthetic division to factor the first part

Repeat

This is the solution to part a

These are the factors in the form (x-c)

Now to find the solution set each of the factors equal to zero

x+3 =0 x+3 = 0 x- sqrt(11) =0 x+ sqrt(11) =0

The solutions are

-3, sqrt(11), - sqrt(11)
