Answer:

Given:

Plan 1 : one-time fee for admission $175.00 plus $8 every trip for parking

Plan 2 : one-time fee for parking $125.00 plus $13. every trip for admission

Plan 1 = 175 + 8x

Plan 2 = 125 + 13x

Plan 1 = Plan 2

175 + 8x = 125 + 13x

8x - 13x = 125 - 175

-5x = -50

x = -50/-5

x = 10

It would take 10 trips for plan 1 and plan 2 to cost the same.

Plan 1: 175 + 8x ⇒ 175 + 8(10) = 175 + 80 = 255

Plan 2: 125 + 13x ⇒ 125 + 13(10) = 125
