200 is 25% of what number

I like to think of the equation like this

Percent x total = part of total

so in this case the equation would look like:

25% x Y=200

Y is the total you're solving for. So rearrange the equation to get:

Y=200/.25

I converted the percent into decimals. so after that, just finish solving

200/.25= 800

800 is your final answer

25% is another way of saying one fourth

Therefore you need a number four times bigger than the first number.

200X4=800
