solve
set to zero by minusing 6 both sides

x^2+4x-2=0

we can't factor

ok so use quadratic formula
ax^2+bx+c=0
x=
\frac{-b+/- \sqrt{b^(2)-4ac} }{2a}

a=1
b=4
c=-2

x=
\frac{-4+/- \sqrt{4^(2)-4(1)(-2)} }{2(1)}
x=
(-4+/- √(16+8) )/(2)
x=
(-4+/- √(24) )/(2)
x=
(-4+/- 2√(6) )/(2)
x=
-2+/- √(6)

x=
-2+ √(6) or
-2- √(6)

answer is A and C
