Yes it is, if n equals 100, then 3x100 would give you 300, after that you add the 1, and get 301.

301=3n+1
solve for n, if it is a natural number (1,2,3,4,5...) then it is in the sequence
301=3n+1
minus 1
300=3n
divide 3
100=n
yes it is
it is the 100th term
