quadratic formula

for the equation
ax^2+bx+c=0
x=
\frac{-b+/- \sqrt{b^(2)-4ac} }{2a}

we are given
x^2-4x+3=0
we don't need to use quadratc formula, we just factor into
(x-3)(x-1)=0
x=3 and 1
but if you want to use quadratic, ok

x^2-4x+3=0
a=1
b=-4
c=3
input
x=
\frac{-(-4)+/- \sqrt{(-4)^(2)-4(1)(3)} }{2(1)}
x=
(4+/- √(16-12) )/(2)
x=
(4+/- √(4) )/(2)
x=
(4+/- 2)/(2)
x=2+/-1
x=2+1 or 2-1
x=3 or 1
