What was one reason Italian trade grew during the Renaissance?

They would develop faster in a city because the population of a city compared to a countryside is way bigger,more people live in cities and people are also closer together to each other and can spread word about art and culture faster and to more people which is why it can develop faster.

New technologies were being developed and affluent people wanted to be in Italy because of the exciting progress that was going on there. So, new and interesting technologies combined with oftentimes more wealthy people flocking there made the Italian trade grow.
