How do you use a number line to round 148 to the nearest 10? Explain.

if you round 148 to the nearest 10 it would be 150.
put the 100's 10's and 1's
100's=1
10's=40
1's=8
you're going to the 10's so base yourself on the one's 5 or above give it a shove. 8 is above 5 so it it turns to a 10. 140+10=150

Great question! A number line can be used to round numbers to the nearest ten, hundred, even thousand because the numbers on the line can be closer to a ten or hundred. If you don't understand what I mean, check out the attached file!
