multiply first equation by 2
6x-4y=24
add to other equaiton

6x-4y=24
2x+4y=16 +
8x+0y=40

8x=40
divide 8
x=5
sub
2x+4y=16
2(5)+4y=16
10+4y=16
4y=6
divide 4
y=6/4=3/2

(5,3/2)
