The correct answer is 5. By looking at the squares, you can see that we're going right 1 and up 5. The slope formula is rise/run, or y/x, so it is 5/1 and not 1/5. In other words, when the line goes up 5, 5 is the y value because when something moves on the y-axis it goes up or down. When the line moved to the right 1, 1 is the x value because hen something moves on the x-axis it goes left and right. We know that the slope is positive because the line is going upward from left to right. Therefore, the slope is positive 5/1, or 5.
