The direction of the global winds and currents in the south of the equator flows to the left. This is explained in Coriolis Effect. The currents are caused by the drag of global winds, therefore, the direction of the winds and currents are on the same direction. Winds in Northern hemisphere deflects to the right while the southern hemisphere to the left.
