It is true that tobacco can damage the immune system of a person with AIDS. Although this is the case with most people - tobacco negatively affects anyone's immune system, not only those who have AIDS - people who do have AIDS are more likely to be seriously harmed than those who do not. People with AIDS already have a weakened immune system that is unable to fight off any diseases, so if it is damaged even more, they can easily die.
