x + 2.75 (2 3/4 is 2.75)
\geq 5
Then we subtract 2.75 from both sides
x
\geq 5 - 2.75
x
\geq 2.25

To do this, we'll set up a variable. We can use the variable x to signify Darian's remaining miles.

If he wants to run more than 5 miles but has already run 2 3/4, we must set up an inequality:

x \geq 5-2 (3)/(4) \\ x \geq (20)/(4) - (11)/(4) \\ x \geq (9)/(4) \\ x \geq 2 (1)/(4)

Darian must run greater than or equal to 2 and 1/4 miles.

Hope this helps!
