a classmate states that mitochondria and chloroplast descended from the same type of bacteria. does the evidence support this? explain your reasoning

The evidence to support this is simply the existence of the Precambrian time period which is when the life on Earth was at a high percentage of just starting out. This time covers about 88 percent of the history of the Earth when it comes to the different forms of life that happened during this time. It was the prime for evolution.
