Newton's second law states that F = m x a (Force is mass times acceleration). Which example would have the GREATEST acceleration?

A) a 10 kg ball thrown with a 50 Newton force
B) a 1 kg ball thrown with a 0.5 Newton force
C) a 50 kg student launched by a 100 Newton catapult
D) a 500 kg car accelerated by 1000 Newtons from the engine

Answer : The correct option is, (A) a 10 kg ball thrown with a 50 Newton force

Explanation :

Formula used :
F=m* a

where,

F = force

m = mass

a = acceleration

Calculate the acceleration for option (A) :

50N=10Kg* a\\\\a=5m/s^2

Calculate the acceleration for option (B) :

0.5N=1Kg* a\\\\a=0.5m/s^2

Calculate the acceleration for option (C) :

100N=50Kg* a\\\\a=2m/s^2

Calculate the acceleration for option (D) :

1000N=500Kg* a\\\\a=2m/s^2

From this we conclude that option (A) have the greatest acceleration.

Hence, the correct option is, (A)
