We know that

Its wide is 60 feet.

Its length is 80 feet.

Mark is going to double the length of all four sides of the lot.

For the initial area, we have.


A=80*60=4800ft^2

Then, since he doubles its dimensions, the new area would be


A=2\cdot80*2\cdot60=19,200ft^2

Once we have both areas, we divide them.


(19,200)/(4,800)=4

Therefore, the new area is 4 times as large. The answer is the second statement.
