a - 3b = 4
a = b -2

(b - 2) - 3b = 4
b - 2 - 3b = 4
-2b = 4 + 2
-2b = 6
b = 6/-2
b = -3

a = b - 2
a = -3 -2
a = -5

to check: a = -5 ; b = -3
(-5,-3)
a - 3b = 4
-5 - 3(-3) = 4
-5 + 9 = 4
4 = 4
