Given:
95 pink rubber bands
90 brown rubber bands

185 rubber bands in all.

Probability of pink : 95/185 ⇒ 19/37

95 ÷ 5 = 19
185 ÷ 5 = 37

Probability of brown : 90/185 ⇒ 18/37

90 ÷ 5 = 18
185 ÷ 5 = 37

Answer:

Explanation:

It is given that A box contains 95 pink rubber bands and 90 brown rubber bands.

Then, the number of pink rubber bands=95,

Number of brown rubber bands=90 and

the total number of rubber bands=95+90=185.

Now, (A) The theoretical probability of selecting a pink rubber band is given as:

P(Pink band)=(Number of pink bands)/(total number of bands)

P(pink bands)=(95)/(185)=(19)/(37)

which is the required probability in simplest form.

(B) The theoretical probability of selecting a brown rubber band is given as:

P(Brown band)=(Number of brown bands)/(total number of bands)

P(Brown bands)=(90)/(185)=(18)/(37)
.

which is the required probability in simplest form.
