y=2x+6

y=2x+2

Solve y=2x+6 for y

Substitute 2x+6 for y in y=2x+2

y=2x+2

2x+6=2x+2

Add -2x to both sides

2x+6-2x= 2x+2-2x

6=2

Add -6 to both sides

6-6=2-6

0=-4
