If a reader wants to evaluate a text, which is the best question to ask while reading it?

A. How well do elements of the text help the text achieve its goals?
B. When did the author write this text, and how did he decide on its goals?
C. How interesting do I find the elements of the text, and do I care about its goals?
D. What elements in this text are ones I like to use in my writing as well

Option A: How well do elements of the text help the text achieve its goals?

The two last options are related with the interests of the reader and not only with the text. The option B, is not exactly about the text but more about the author. The option A really intends to assesses the text.
