The final step in this inequality is to make x the subject. To do this, we divide both sides of the inequality by -2. Whenever we mulitply or divide by a negative number in an inequality, we must swtich the sign. So the inequality becomes -6/-2 > -2x/-2 which simplifies to x < 3.
