Solution

Given a solid (cuboid) made of cubes.

Where each side length of the cube is 1yard,

The length of the solid is

=1+1+1=3yd

The width of the solid is

=1+1=2yd

And the height of the solid is

=1+1=2yd

To find the volume, V, of the solid, the formula is

\begin{gathered} V=LWH \\ Where\text{ } \\ L\text{ is the length} \\ W\text{ is the width} \\ H\text{ is the height } \end{gathered}

Where

\begin{gathered} L=3yd \\ W=2yd \\ H=2yd \end{gathered}

The volume, V, of the solid will be

\begin{gathered} V=3*2*2=12\text{ cubic yards} \\ V=12\text{ cubic yards} \end{gathered}

Hence, the volume, V of the solid is 12 cubic yards
