These people are the ancient Greeks. The Greeks were the first to introduce trial by jury, democracy, and the Olympics, even if they were much different then than they are today. Democracies in Greek city-states were somewhat crude, as women and non-landowners weren't considered citizens and had no say in politics, but they were basically the same systems used in countries like the United States today. Trial by jury was also a Greek idea, changing the system of instant guilt and vigilante justice used by other civilizations of the time. The Olympic games in Greece are what today's Olympics are based off of, even if they were different and more brutal then than they are today.
